Farshad Pious
Farshad Pious (; born 12 January 1962) is an Iranian retired association football, footballer who played as a forward (association football), forward for a number of clubs in Iran, most notably Persepolis F.C., Persepolis, as well as the Iran national football team, Iran national team. He is regarded as one of the best players in the history of Iranian football. He helped Persepolis win their only ever Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 1991 and also led them to a runners-up finish the following year. Pious was named the Iranian Football League top scorer on seven occasions. He is also Persepolis' greatest ever scorer with 153 goals in 211 games. After football, Pious turned to managing. The first club he managed was Shahid Ghandi Yazd. The most famous club Pious managed was Tractor S.C., Tractor from 2005 to 2007. Club career Early career Pious was born in Tehran, Iran. Azadi Stadium
The Azadi Stadium (, ), opened as the Aryamehr Stadium (), is an all-seater football stadium in Tehran, Iran. The stadium was designed by Abdol Aziz Mirza Farman-Farmaian Architects and Associates (AFFA) with other parts of the sports complex based on plans by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm. It was inaugurated on 17 October 1971 by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the late Shah of Iran; it is currently self-owned by Esteghlal and Persepolis. It is also the home stadium of the Iran national football team. It has a capacity of 78,116 spectators, as the result of conversion to all-seater stadium. The stadium is part of the larger Azadi Sport Complex. Iranian Football League
The Iranian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for soccer, football clubs in Iran. Structure The current structure has been in place since 2001. The Iran's Premier Football League, Pro League is the highest level of club football in Iran. It is also called the Persian Gulf Pro League, Pro League. Below it is the Azadegan League, also known as the 1st division and called the Azadegan League, which consists of one eighteen-team group. One level further down from that is the Iran Football's 2nd Division, League 3, also known as League 2 (Iran), League 3 which is made up of 60 teams evenly distributed into three groups. One step down, and the final nationwide league, is the Iran Football's 3rd Division, League 3. This level has six groups and 96 teams.
