Fana Håndball
Fana Håndball is the women's handball team of the Norwegian multi-sports club Fana IL based in Bergen. The team plays in REMA 1000-ligaen (women's handball), REMA 1000-ligaen, the top division in the country, since its historical promotion on 14 March 2018. Another historic event happened on 10 December 2022, when they qualified for the 2022–23 Women's EHF European League, 2022–23 Women's EHF European League, for the first time in the club's history. Bergen
Bergen (, ) is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestland county on the Western Norway, west coast of Norway. The 2022–23 REMA 1000-ligaen was the 56th season of REMA 1000-ligaen (women's handball), REMA 1000-ligaen, Norway's premier handball league. Team information A total of 12 teams participated in the 2022/23 edition of REMA 1000-ligaen. 11 teams were qualified directly from the 2021–22 REMA 1000-ligaen (women's handball), 2021/22 season. Only Volda Handball from 1. divisjon (Norwegian handball), 1. divisjon, was promoted to REMA 1000-ligaen. Regular season Usually, the team placing 12th will be relegated to the 1. divisjon (Norwegian handball), 1. divisjon, and the teams placing 9th, 10th and 11th will have to play a relegation playoff tournament. However, since next season will consist of 14 teams, only the team placed 12th will have to play relegation playoff matches this season, against the team placed 3rd in First Division. Olivia Lykke Nygaard (born 14 September 2001) is a Norwegian handball player for Storhamar HE and the Norwegian national team. She was part of the Norwegian squad for the 2019 Women's U-19 European Handball Championship, where she received a bronze medal. Emilie Hovden (born 5 April 1996) is a Norwegian handball player for Győri ETO KC and the Norwegian national team. She also represented Norway at the 2015 Women's Under-19 European Handball Championship, placing 6th and at the 2013 Youth European Championship, placing 7th. She made her debut for the Norwegian national team in November 2021 against Netherlands, and a few days later she was at her first major international tournament, 2021 World Women's Handball Championship in Spain.
