Fairham
Fairham is an under construction suburb in the borough of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire. It is located directly to the south of Clifton and roughly south-west of Nottingham's city centre and is set to be approximately in area. History The outline planning permission for Fairham was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council on 25 January 2018 as part of a scheme to create up to 13,500 new homes by 2028, with the suburb providing 3,000. Plans for a nearby business park were also approved in addition. Development would begin in 2020, led by Homes England and Clowes Developments, with the first houses built in early 2024. ADAM Architecture would serve as the site's urban designer. A short extension of the Nottingham Express Transit beyond Clifton South into Fairham was being investigated by mid-2018. Clifton, Nottinghamshire
Clifton is a suburb and historic manor in the city of Nottingham, in Nottinghamshire, England. As of the 2021 census, it had a population of 22,936. Clifton has two council wards in the City of Nottingham (Clifton West and Clifton East as of 2018) with a total population taken at the 2011 census (prior wards of Clifton North and Clifton South) of 26,835. The location also encompasses Clifton Grove and Clifton Village, a residential area set alongside the River Trent. The Manor of Clifton was for many centuries the seat of the ''de Clifton'' (later ''Clifton'') family, branches of which were in the 17th century created Baron Clifton of Leighton Bromswold (1608) and Clifton baronets (1611). Barton In Fabis
Barton in Fabis is a village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire. It had a population of 266 in the 2011 census, falling slightly to 258 at the 2021 census. The village is just south of Nottingham, being on the other side of the River Trent from Attenborough. A ferry, ''Barton Ferry'', used to cross the River Trent to the Attenborough side near to the mouth of the River Erewash. A ferry crossed the River Trent at this point since before 1774. The Fairham Brook forms part of the eastern parish boundary. The name originates from an older name, "Barton in the Beans" (Fabis being Latin for 'bean', in the ablative plural), apparently referring to the beans grown in the village. Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is a tram system in Nottingham, England. The concept of a modern tramway to reduce road congestion and promote urban renewal was formally identified during the late 1980s while detailed planning was undertaken during the early 1990s.
