Facundo Quiroga (footballer, Born 1978)
Facundo Hernán Quiroga (born 10 January 1978) is an Argentine retired professional footballer. Mainly a central defender, he could also play as a right back. Club career Born in San Luis, Quiroga began his career at Newell's Old Boys in the Argentine Primera División in 1997. The following year he was signed by Sporting CP, where he spent six years with a season-long loan at Italian side S.S.C. Napoli in 2000–01. He was relatively important in the Lisbon team's 2000 conquest of the Primeira Liga championship, playing alongside another Newell's youth graduate Aldo Duscher who also joined in 1998; at Napoli he played with former Sporting teammate Luis Vidigal, as they were eventually relegated from Serie A. Álvaro 'Aldo' Pedro Duscher (born 22 March 1979) is an Argentine football manager and former player who played as a defensive midfielder. He is the current manager of the Paraguay national under-20 team. Renowned for his physical presence on the pitch, Duscher also held an Austrian passport, and spent most of his professional career in Spain, playing in 338 official matches for four clubs – most notably at Deportivo. Over 11 seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 247 games and five goals. He also had a two-year spell in Portugal with Sporting. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the 1872 Scotland v England football match, first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Juan Carlos Menseguez (born 18 February 1984) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a winger or forward. Career Menseguez was born in Córdoba. He started playing football for River Plate in Buenos Aires at the age of 15. Before making his debut for River Plate he was transferred to Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. In the summer of 2007, Menseguez signed for Argentine team, San Lorenzo. On 2 February 2009, Menseguez moved to West Bromwich Albion on loan, with a view to making the deal permanent. He scored his debut goal after coming on as a substitute to secure a 3–0 league victory for West Brom against Sunderland. The club released him at the end of the season on 1 June. Diego Fernando Klimowicz (born 6 July 1974) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre-forward. He started and finished his 18-year professional career with Instituto, but competed mostly in Spain and Germany, notably amassing Bundesliga totals of 213 games and 71 goals in the latter country. Andrés Nicolás D'Alessandro (born 15 April 1981) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.
