Fabián Canobbio
Néstor Fabián Canobbio Bentaberry (born 8 March 1980) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. A skilled midfielder with netting ability, he spent most of his career in Spain, having played 225 competitive matches for three clubs. Club career Born in Montevideo, Canobbio began his career with Progreso in 1997. In three seasons there, he was impressive enough to be signed by country giants Peñarol in 2001, where he spent two campaigns scoring more than 30 official goals while helping the capital side to the Primera División title in 2003. Canobbio was acquired by Rafael Benítez's Valencia in late July 2003, where he featured mainly as a substitute; the manager had not asked for the player to be signed, and famously commented that he had been waiting for a sofa and had been brought a lamp instead. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. 2007–08 Segunda División
The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008. Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, and Gimnàstic de Tarragona were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. Racing de Ferrol, Eibar, Sevilla Atlético, and Córdoba were the teams which were promoted from Segunda División B the previous season. The first goal of the season was scored by Joseba del Olmo, who scored an 18th-minute goal for Eibar against Racing de Ferrol in the early kick-off. Alejandro Castro Fernández (born 27 February 1979), known as Jandro, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder, currently a manager. He appeared in 331 Segunda División matches over 11 seasons, scoring a total of 73 goals for Celta, Albacete, Alavés, Gimnàstic, Elche and Girona.
