FK Kukësi (women)
FK Kukësi (women) were an Albanian women's professional football club based in Kukës. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2022–23 season, finishing ninth in a ten-team league. History Kukësi was established on 13 November 2013. The team made its debut on 11 January 2014, in a 2–2 draw against FC Kinostudio, with Sara Merovci scoring the first ever goal in club history. The team, coached by Genc Tamniku, consisted mostly of players from neighbouring Kosovo, with Sava Sallahi being the only local player. The team's highest achievement came during the 2014–15 season when they finished as runners-up in both the league championship and the domestic cup. Kukësi played their home matches at Zeqir Ymeri Stadium, renovated in 2012. Albanian Women's Cup
The Albanian Women's Cup is the annual cup competition of women's football in Albania. Established in 2009, it is the second most important tournament after the National Championship. Vllaznia have won the Cup 10 times, with four other teams winning the trophy. List of finals The list of finals so far: The 2014–15 final was actually played as a three-team round-robin stage. Kukës Arena
The Kukës Arena is a stadium in Kukës, Albania. It is mainly used for football matches and is the home ground of the Kategoria Superiore club Kukësi. The stadium was built on the site of the pre-existing Përparimi Stadium, located near the center of Kukës on Rruga Stadiumi (Stadium Street). Incidents During a friendly match between Kukësi U17 and Liria U17 on November 30, 2012, 17-year-old footballer Ilirjan Thaçi collapsed and died on the field after suffering a heart attack related to a previously undetected heart problem. Thaçi, born in 1995, was a defender on the books of FK Kukësi, his hometown club where he was also a lifelong supporter. He collapsed in the tenth minute of a friendly match and died of a myocardial infarction despite efforts to resuscitate him. Artim Šakiri
Artim Šakiri (, ; born 23 September 1973) is a Macedonian football manager and a former midfielder from North Macedonia. He is considered to be one of the best players in the history of the Macedonian national team. While managing Kukësi in 2014, Šakiri was ranked as the best manager of the Kategoria Superiore and the second best manager of Albanian origin in the world. FC Kinostudio is an Albanian women's professional Association football, football club based in Tirana. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2023–24 Albanian Women's National Championship, 2023–24 season, finishing fifth in a ten-team league. History Kinostudio was established on 8 July 2009 under the leadership of youth coach Gëzim Gjonpalaj. Several players from Tirana AS, previously coached by Skënder Hodja and later Hiqmet Hasko, joined the team.
