FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2024
The 2024 FIS Ski Flying World Championships was the 28th Ski Flying World Championships, which took place from 25 to 28 January 2024 in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria. It was the sixth competition of its rank, held at this location (previously in 1975, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016). The decision to choose Bad Mitterndorf as the host of the Championships was announced on 1 April 2021. Originally, the event was to be held in Harrachov, but was moved due to technical and financial problems related to the Čerťák facility. The defending champion was Marius Lindvik Marius Lindvik (born 27 June 1998) is a Norwegian ski jumper and Olympic gold medalist. His best individual World Cup showing so far is 2nd in an individual large hill in Klingenthal in 2023, a competition in which he equalled the existing official hill record. Johann André Forfang (born 4 July 1995) is a Norwegian Ski jumping, ski jumper and 2018 team Olympic champion. Career Like his older brother Daniel Forfang he represents the club Tromsø SK. Forfang made his FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, World Cup debut in December 2014. He won team gold medal FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2016 with his teammates in Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf.
