FC Politehnica Timișoara (Zambon)
Fotbal Club Politehnica Timișoara (), commonly known as Politehnica Timișoara or simply Poli Timișoara, was a Romanian football club from Timișoara, Timiș County, established in 1921 and dissolved in 2012. During its existence, the team won two Cupa României trophies and was twice runner-up in the Liga I. It amassed 49 seasons in the latter competition. Named after and initially run by the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, the club was founded in 1921 by mathematician Traian Lalescu. After two decades spent in the regional leagues, Politehnica promoted to the top flight in 1948. It claimed its first trophy in the 1957–58 season, when it defeated Progresul București in the national cup final. Internationally, "the White-Violets" made their European debut in the 1978–79 UEFA Cup, when they went past MTK Hungária in the first round. CA Timișoara
Club Atletic Timișoara, known as CA Timișoara or simply CAT, was a football club from Timișoara. The team was founded in 1902 under the name Temesvári Football Club, later becoming Temesvári Atletikai Club, when the city was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After World War I, it competed under the name CA Timișoara in the leagues of the Kingdom of Romania. Throughout its history, Club Atletic Timișoara never played in Romania’s top football division but reached the Round of 16 of the Cupa României on two occasions. In 1936, CAT merged with local rivals RGM Timișoara to form CAM Timișoara, and the club was subsequently dissolved. Grațian Sepi
Grațian Sepi (30 December 1910 – 6 March 1977) was a Romanian footballer who played as a striker. Club career Grațian Sepi, nicknamed "The Tank from the Balkans" or "The Brunette Sindelar" was born on 30 December 1910 in Valkány, Austria-Hungary, being his parents second child of three boys. After spending the first few years in Valkány, his family moved to Timișoara where he grew up in the Mehala neighborhood. He started playing junior level football in 1922 at local club, Politehnica. In 1924 he moved to neighboring club, Banatul, then after a short while he returned to Politehnica where he played three seasons. Vasile Deheleanu (12 August 1910 – 30 April 2003) was a Romanian footballer who played in midfield and coach. Club career Vasile Deheleanu was born on 12 August 1910 in Temesvár, Austria-Hungary, growing up in the Mehala neighborhood. He started playing junior level football at local club, Unirea. In 1925 he moved to neighboring club, Politehnica where he met Tony Cargnelli which he considered the best coach of his career. Lazăr Sfera (29 April 1909, in Lokve, Alibunar, Végszentmihály, Austria-Hungary (today Lokve, Serbia) – 24 April 1992) was a Romanian footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender. Fotbal Club Ripensia Timișoara (), commonly known as Ripensia Timișoara, or simply as Ripensia, is a Romanian professional Association football, football Club (organization), club based in Timișoara, Timiș County, which currently plays in Liga V The team was founded in 1928 by Lázár Kornél and folded twenty years later due to lack of funds. Divizia B
The Liga 2, most commonly spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 football season. It is currently sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company under the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Since its inception in 1934, Liga II has had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions.
