FCM Dunărea Galați
Dunărea Galați was a Romanian professional football club from Galați, Galați County, south-east Romania, founded in 1970. The club was dissolved in 2014. History The club was founded in 1970, took the place of Oțelul Galați in Divizia B and has played for 5 seasons in the Liga I. For a brief period, it was Galați's main team, but after the rise of Oțelul in the 1980s, it is seen only in the Liga II and the Liga III. They were supposed to be relegated to Liga III at the end of the 2007–08 season, but they managed to maintain their second league position due to the withdrawal of FCM Câmpina. The 2009–10 season started well, the team reaching the Round of 32 of the Romanian Cup, being eliminated by cup holders CFR Cluj. They finished 11th in the league table. The Nicolae Rainea Stadium, formerly known as Dunărea Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium, frequently used for football. It is located in Galați and was the home ground of CSU Galați and Dunărea Galaţi, among others. The stadium holds 23,000 people. Ștefan Coidum
Ștefan Coidum (28 December 1930 – 27 February 2015) was a Romanian professional footballer and manager. Even if he did not have a lengthy playing career, playing only 10 seasons total, and just over 60 Divizia A matches, Coidum impressed much more as a football manager. In his 35-year career, during which he trained 18 different teams, Ștefan Coidum earned a reputation as an expert of promotions, achieving no fewer than 6 promotions to the first league with: CS Târgoviște, Brașov, ASA Târgu Mureș (2), Bihor Oradea and Maramureș Baia Mare. He also led Universitatea Craiova and Argeș Pitești in the European Cups. Constantin Teașcă
Constantin Teașcă also known as Titi Teașcă (25 September 1922 – 30 July 1996) was a Romanian football player and manager. Nicknamed "Little Napoleon", Teașcă was known for his controversial training methods for which he would get in conflicts with the players. He was the manager of Romania on two occasions, first in 1962 and then in 1967. He had one experience outside Romania when he managed Turkish side Fenerbahçe from 1970 to 1971. Teașcă has a total of 323 matches as a manager in the Romanian top-division, Divizia A consisting of 120 victories, 64 draws and 139 losses. Playing career Constantin Teașcă was born on 25 September 1922 in Giurgiu, Romania, starting to play junior level football in 1932 at local club, Acvila. In 1940 he started to play for Acvila's senior team, being a midfielder, then in 1946 he went to play for Concordia Ploiești. Liga IV Galați is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Galați County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 14 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. History association football, Football arrived in Galați around 1908, brought by foreign commercial companies and the efforts of Officer Vladovici, a career officer who had studied in France. The first matches involved military teams, such as the one from the 3rd Heavy Artillery Regiment founded by Vladovici, which played against the English sailors stationed in the port.
