''Expo'' is a Swedish anti-racist magazine started in 1995 by Stieg Larsson. It is issued by the non-profit Expo Foundation (''Stiftelsen Expo''). The magazine, issued four times a year, contains investigative journalism focused on nationalist, racist, anti-democratic, anti-semitic, and far-right movements and organisations. The people responsible for ''Expo'' make no connections with specific organisations or political parties, but work together with individuals and organisations that share ''Expo''s platform. The chairman of the Expo Foundation is Charles Westin. The magazine is headquartered in Stockholm. The organisation has several parts. Expo Arkiv is an archive of far-right and anti-democratic events in Scandinavia. The archive is open to researchers, students, and individuals who need information. ''Internationalen'' (the Swedish language name of "The Internationale") is a Swedish Trotskyist weekly newspaper of the Socialist Party. History and profile The newspaper was established in 1971 originally by the name ''Mullvaden'' ("the Mole") as a monthly magazine, and changed its name to ''Internationalen'' in 1974 when it became a weekly. The Socialistiska Partiet ( en, Socialist Party) was a Swedish Trotskyist political party, the Swedish section of the Fourth International. History The party was formed at a congress in 1971, through the merger of the Revolutionary Marxists (RM) and the Bolshevik Group (BG). Initially it was called League of Revolutionary Marxists ( sv, Revolutionära Marxisters Förbund, RMF). One section of RM did not agree with the formation of RM and formed the Communist Working Groups (KAG). KAG would later reconcile with RMF, merging into it in 1972. At the fifth party congress, held in 1975, the name was changed to Communist Workers League (''Kommunistiska Arbetarförbundet''). In 1982, the party adopted its current name. ''Millennium'' is a series of best-selling and award-winning Swedish literature, Swedish crime novels, created by journalist Stieg Larsson. The two primary characters in the saga are Lisbeth Salander, an asocial computer hacker with a eidetic memory, photographic memory, and Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative journalism, investigative journalist and publisher of a magazine called ''Millennium''. Larsson planned the series as having 10 installments, but completed only three before his sudden death in 2004. Tess Asplund
Tess Asplund (born 1974) is a Swedish activist who gained attention following her protest against neo-Nazis in Borlänge, Sweden. David Lagerlof was the photographer of the viral image of Asplund, which shows her facing uniformed members of the Swedish Nordic Resistance Movement with her fist in the air. She is originally from Colombia and describes herself as Afro-Swedish. About the incident, Asplund is quoted as having said “If this picture of me can get more people to dare to show resistance, then it’s all good...the people must unite and show that it is not okay that racism is becoming normalised and that fascists are running around on our streets.” Asplund is a member of Afrophobia Focus. ''Expressen'' (''The Express'') is one of two nationwide evening newspapers in Sweden, the other being '' Aftonbladet''. ''Expressen'' was founded in 1944; its symbol is a wasp and its slogans are "it stings" or "''Expressen'' to your rescue". Overview The first edition of ''Expressen'' was published on 16 November 1944. A main feature that day was an interview with the crew members of a British bomber who were successful in sinking the German ship ''Tirpitz''. A project of Albert Bonnier Jr., Carl-Adam Nycop, and Ivar Harrie – who was to become the first editor-in-chief – Expressen was created in part to push back against "national socialism and related violent ideologies." ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. History and profile The newspaper was founded by Lars Johan Hierta in December 1830 under the name of ''Aftonbladet i Stockholm'' during the modernization of Sweden. Often critical and oppositional, the paper was repeatedly banned from publishing. However, Hierta circumvented the bans by constantly reviving the paper under slightly modified names, as, legally speaking, a new publication. Thus, on 16 February 1835, he issued the first edition of New Aftonbladet, which would – after yet another ban – be followed by Newer Aftonbladet, in turn followed by Fourth Aftonbladet, Fifth Aftonbladet, and so on. Moderate Party
The Moderate Party ( sv, Moderata samlingspartiet , ; M), commonly referred to as the Moderates ( ), is a liberal-conservative political party in Sweden. The party generally supports tax cuts, the free market, civil liberties and economic liberalism. Internationally, it is a full member of the International Democrat Union and the European People's Party. The party was founded in 1904 as the General Electoral League (''Allmänna valmansförbundet'' ) by a group of conservatives in the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament.
