Eugène De Planard
Eugène de Planard (full name: François-Antoine-Eugène de Planard; ; 4 February 1783 – 13 November 1853) was a 19th-century French playwright. He collaborated with Daniel-François-Esprit Auber, Ferdinand Hérold (''Le Pré-aux-clercs'', 1832), Adolphe Adam (''Le Farfadet'', 1852), Nicolas-Charles Bochsa, Michele Enrico Carafa, Jacques-Fromental Halévy (''L’Éclair'', 1835), George Onslow et Ambroise Thomas (''Le Caïd'', 1849 ; ''Le Carnaval de Venise'', 1852). His daughter Eugénie (1818–1874) married the dramatist and librettist Adolphe de Leuven (1802–1884). Millau
Millau (; oc, Milhau ) is a commune in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region in Southern France. One of two subprefectures in Aveyron alongside Villefranche-de-Rouergue, it is located to the southeast of the prefecture, Rodez. With a population of 22,002 as of 2018, it is situated at the confluence of the rivers Tarn and Dourbie, and is surrounded by the landscapes of Gorges du Tarn and Causse du Larzac. It is part of the former province of Rouergue where people also communicate through Rouergat, a dialect of the Occitan language. Adolphe De Leuven
Adolphe de Leuven (30 September 1802 – 14 April 1884) was a French theatre director and a librettist. Also known as Grenvallet, and Count Adolph Ribbing. He was the illegitimate son of Adolph Ribbing, who was involved in the assassination of Gustav III of Sweden in 1792, and Jeanne-Claude Billard. He took his name as a variation of that of his paternal grandmother, Eva Löwen. Fayard (complete name: ''Librairie Arthème Fayard'') is a French Paris-based publishing house established in 1857. Fayard is controlled by Hachette Livre. Joël-Marie Fauquet (born 27 April 1942 at Nogent-le-Rotrou) is a French musicologist. Life Fauquet studied applied arts before devoting himself to musicology and the social history of music. Jules-Henri Vernoy De Saint-Georges
Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges (7 November 1799 – 23 December 1875) was a French playwright, who was born and died in Paris. He was one of the most prolific librettists of the 19th century, often working in collaboration with others. Saint-Georges' first work, (1823), a comédie en vaudeville written in collaboration with Alexandre Tardif, was followed by a series of operas and ballets. In 1829 he became manager of the Opéra-Comique at Paris. Among Saint-Georges' more famous libretti are: the ballet ''Giselle'' (with Théophile Gautier) (1841), the opera (1835) for Halévy, the opera (with Jean-François Bayard) (1840) for Donizetti, and the opera for Georges Bizet. The Opéra-Comique is a Paris opera company which was founded around 1714 by some of the popular theatres of the Parisian fairs. In 1762 the company was merged with – and for a time took the name of – its chief rival, the Comédie-Italienne at the Hôtel de Bourgogne. Prosper Mérimée (; 28 September 1803 – 23 September 1870) was a French writer in the movement of Romanticism, and one of the pioneers of the novella, a short novel or long short story. He was also a noted archaeologist and historian, and an important figure in the history of architectural preservation.
