Eugene Tzigane
Eugene Tzigane (IPA – Ju:dʒi:n tsi'ga:n) (real name: Gene McDonough) is a symphonic and operatic conductor. He's serving as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Kuopio Symphony Orchestra in Kuopio, Finland, since 2023. Biography Tzigane was born in Japan. Career Tzigane has guest conducted on four continents including appearances with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Symphony, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, and Norwegian Radio Orchestra among many others. His operatic appearances include the Bavarian State Opera, Frankfurt Opera, and the Hamburg State Opera. Atso Almila
Atso Almila (born 13 June 1953, in Helsinki 1) is a Finnish orchestral conductor, music director, composer, trombonist and teacher. He has worked with most Finnish orchestras as a guest conductor or otherwise. Though he primarily operates in Finland he also works heavily in Sweden and Estonia. His composition style may be deemed neo-classical though he has been seen to be sometimes chromatic and expressive (as in his 1985 ''Flute Concerto'' and his 1989 ''Violin Concerto''). His works show appreciation for the individual instrument and for natural musicianship. He studied the trombone and orchestral conducting at the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki under Jorma Panula graduating in orchestral conducting in 1979. The Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie (North West German Philharmonic) is a German symphony orchestra based in Herford. It was founded in 1950 and, along with Philharmonie Südwestfalen and Landesjugendorchester NRW, is one of the 'official' orchestras (Landesorchester) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Sir Georg Solti International Conductors' Competition is a German competition for conductors that occurs biennially in Frankfurt, at the Alte Oper. The cooperating music organisations are the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester and the hr-Sinfonieorchester. The competition was founded in memory of Sir Georg Solti, who led the Frankfurt Opera during 1952–1961. The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors (Polish: ''Międzynarodowy Konkurs Dyrygentów im. Grzegorza Fitelberga'') is one of Poland's premier conducting competitions. Named in honour of Grzegorz Fitelberg (1879–1953), the competition was admitted as a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) based in Geneva IN 1980. The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors was founded in 1979 by Karol Stryja, student of Fitelberg and director of the Silesian Philharmonic, who led all its editions until his death in 1998.
