English Foxhound
The English Foxhound is one of the four foxhound breeds of dog. It is a cousin of the American Foxhound. They are scent hounds, bred to hunt foxes by scent. Description Appearance The breed standards' guidelines for showing English Foxhounds requires them to be tall at the withers. The skull is thick and the muzzle is long. The legs are muscular, straight-boned, and the paws are rounded, almost cat-like. The English Foxhound comes in any hound color, most often tricolor, tan, red, or black with a white base. Temperament The English Foxhound is a pack hound, therefore, it gets along well with other dogs and enjoys human companionship. It gets along with horses, children, and other pets, as it is a gentle, social, and tolerant breed. It is an active breed that enjoys tracking foxes and has the stamina to run all day with few breaks. Health and lifespan There are very few health problems in this breed. International Foxhound Association
The International Foxhound Association (IFA) is incorporated as an NGO since 2012. IFA is an extension of the International Dianna Club (Oxford University Society created in 1991 under the patronage of Capt. Ronnie Wallace, long-standing former Chairman of the UK Master of Foxhound Association). The purpose of IFA is the worldwide promotion of the English Foxhound as a breed. The members of this association are masters of recognized packs of foxhounds from France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Canada and Australia., and, selected members of existing Master of Foxhound Associations (MFHA). John Cornish
John Rundle Cornish (7 October 1837 – 20 April 1918) was an Anglican bishop, the inaugural Bishop of St Germans from 1905 to 1918. Born on 7 October 1837 he was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, where he was 14th Wrangler in 1859. He was a Lecturer then Fellow at the College before studying for ordination. His subsequent appointments included a period as Vicar of Kenwyn, the post of Principal of ''Truro Training College'' and Archdeacon of Cornwall before a 15-year stint as a suffragan bishop as the inaugural Bishop of St Germans. He died on 20 April 1918 and a school (the Bishop Cornish C of E VA Primary School) in the locality is named after him.
