Emeric Thököly
Emeric Thököly de Késmárk ( hu, késmárki Thököly Imre; sk, Imrich Tököli; ; tr, Tököli İmre; 25 September 1657 13 September 1705) was a Hungarian nobleman, leader of anti-Habsburg uprisings like his father, Count István Thököly, before him. Emeric was Prince of Upper Hungary, an Ottoman vassal state, from 1682 to 1685, and briefly Prince of Transylvania during the year 1690. Having formed an alliance with the Turks, Thököly assisted the Ottoman Empire at the Battle of Vienna in 1683 and led the Turkish cavalry at the battle of Zenta. Refusing to surrender to Habsburg Emperor Leopold I, Thököly lost his principality of Upper Hungary and finally retired to Galata, near Constantinople, with large estates granted him by Mustafa II. Paul Emerick (born January 24, 1980) is the head coach of the American Raptors in Glendale, Colorado. He was the defense and skills coach and the 2019 interim head coach for the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby. He was a former USA international rugby player. Martin Emerich (April 27, 1846 – September 25, 1922) was a U.S. Representative from Illinois. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Emerich attended the public schools. He engaged in the importing business. He was appointed ward commissioner of the poor of Baltimore in 1870. He served as member of the Maryland House of Delegates 1881–1883. He served as aide-de-camp to Governor William T. Hamilton 1880–1884, and to Governor Elihu E. Jackson 1884–1887. He moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1887 and engaged in mercantile pursuits until 1896, when he engaged in the manufacture of bricks. He served as member of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County 1892–1894. He served as assessor of South Chicago 1897. Emerich was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1903 – March 3, 1905). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1904. He retired in 1905. Johann Emerich was a printer and typographer from Udenheim, near Speyer, in the Rhineland in the Holy Roman Empire. He was active as a book printer and typographer in Venice from 1487, when he collaborated with Johannes Hamman of Landau in the printing of a breviary and a missal, until about 1499, when he spent almost six months on the printing of an illustrated ''Graduale secundum morem sancte Romane Ecclesie'' for the Florentine publisher Lucantonio Giunti. Emerich is thought to have died at about this time. His fonts and equipment passed to Giunti and enabled him to establish his own printing workshops. Emerich printed about forty works, of which about thirty were for Giunti. These represented about half the total output of the Giunti imprint in the fifteenth century. Geoffrey Ernest Emerick (5 December 1945 – 2 October 2018) was an English sound engineer and record producer who worked with the Beatles on their albums ''Revolver'' (1966), ''Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'' (1967) and ''Abbey Road'' (1969). Beatles producer George Martin credited him with bringing "a new kind of mind to the recordings, always suggesting sonic ideas, different kinds of reverb, what we could do with the voices". Emerick also engineered the Zombies' '' Odessey and Oracle'' (1968), Paul McCartney and Wings' ''Band on the Run'' (1973) and produced Elvis Costello's ''Imperial Bedroom'' (1982), among many others. Emeric Essex Vidal (29 March 1791 – 7 May 1861) was an English watercolourist and naval officer. His opportunities for travel, his curiosity about local customs and human types, and his eye for the picturesque, led him to make paintings which are now historical resources. A landscape painter and a costumbrista, he was the first visual artist to leave records of the ordinary inhabitants of the newly emergent Argentina and Uruguay, including the first depictions of gauchos. He also left records of Canada, Brazil, the West Indies and St Helena, where he sketched the newly deceased Napoleon. No full-length biography of Vidal yet exists; only brief accounts written from the viewpoints of the lands he visited. Although a number of his watercolours have been published as hand-coloured aquatints, or by modern printing methods, or sold at auction, it is plausible that most have been lost or await rediscovery in private collections.
