Ellen Lie
Ellen Johanna Lie (1833–1914) was a lifesaver from Trondheim in Norway. History Ellen Johanna’s last name was Hagen before she got engaged to Petter Lie (1835–1817) in 1861. They had four daughters, and they worked at Ravnkloa selling fish. Petter Lie was a sailor from Trondheim. He is most known for rescuing people from drowning, and he has saved in total 34 people. Ellen Lie was also a lifesaver and she saved in total 19 people. In 1879 Petter Lie got the (borgerdådsmedaljen) medal of citizens in silver. They also received 200 kroner from the every year for their good actions, which was a lot of money at that time. Lifesaving is the act involving rescue, resuscitation and first aid. It often refers to water safety and aquatic rescue; however, it could include ice rescue, flood and river rescue, swimming pool rescue and other emergency medical services. Petter Lie
Petter Lie (1835–1917) was a Norwegian sailor and fisherman. Petter Lie was born in the neighbourhood of Bakklandet in Trondheim, Norway. In 1861 he became engaged to Ellen Johanna Hagen (1833–1914). After their marriage, they moved into a house at Østmarkneset on the peninsula of Lade in the northwest part of Trondheim. Petter, Ellen and their four daughters made a living by fishing and selling the fish at the Ravnkloa fish market. From their home, Petter and Ellen had a view of the Trondheimsfjord as it passes by the city of Trondheim. They could quickly see if anything unusual was happening. When people had problems in their boats, help was not far away. Petter was an eager rescuer who also was helped by his wife. All together, Petter Lie saved 34 people from drowning. Østmarka
Østmarka is a forested area to the east of Oslo and part of the congregation of woodland areas known as Oslomarka. The area is situated within the municipalities Oslo, Lørenskog, Rælingen, Ski and Enebakk. Østmarka is delimited to the west by populated areas of Oslo, to the north of communities of Skårer, Lørenskog and Rælingen and to the east by the lake Øyeren, to the south-east lies Enebakk and to the south-west Sørmarka, another forested area. The change from Østmarka to Sørmarka takes place at the lake Langen. Lade (Old Norse: ''Hlaðir'') is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is in the borough of Østbyen, just northeast of the city centre of Midtbyen and north of the Lademoen neighborhood. Lade is located on a peninsula bordering the Trondheimsfjord, an important waterway dating back to the Viking Age. It is the site of the historic Lade estate ('' Lade gaard'') and of Lade Church (''Lade kirke''), which dates to around 1190.
