Steven John Miles (born 15 November 1977) is an Australian politician. He has been the Deputy Premier of Queensland since May 2020, and been the Labor member for Murrumba in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2017, and previously represented Mount Coot-tha from 2015 to 2017. Personal life Miles has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Queensland. Miles' PhD thesis was on Union Renewal. Prior to his election, Miles ran a local small business and has three young children. Miles also worked for the prominent Public Sector Union Together in Queensland, formally known as the QPSU, as an Industrial Relations Director and lead Organiser for several years. Rothwell is a coastal suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Rothwell had a population of 7,165 people. Geography Rothwell is in the west of the Redcliffe peninsula, approximately north-northeast of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. Dean MacMillan Wells (born 13 January 1949) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1986 to 2012 and was a Labor member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1983 to 1984. Born of Australian parents in Hiroshima, Japan, he was educated at Monash University before becoming a lawyer. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 before completing his Master of Arts in 1976. Finally in 1980, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws. Later, he was a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Queensland and an author and political commentator. Desmond John Frawley (23 September 1924 – 23 May 1996) was a company owner and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early days Frawley was born in Brisbane, Queensland, to parents Stanley John Frawley and his wife Alice Mary (née Campbell). He attended Virginia State School, St Columban's College, and Brisbane Grammar School. Soon after leaving school he joined the RAAF where he served from 1942 to 1946. On his discharge he trained as an electrical mechanic under the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Scheme with the Public Works Department, Brisbane, for a period of three years.
