Río Piedras Pueblo, (officially just Pueblo, unofficially downtown Río Piedras), is one of 18 barrios in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rio Piedras Pueblo is what used to be the urban center-barrio (downtown district) of the former municipality of Río Piedras until 1951, when the municipality of Rio Piedras was merged with the municipality of San Juan. Puerto Rico Highway 1
Puerto Rico Highway 1 (PR-1) is a highway in Puerto Rico that connects the city of Ponce to San Juan. Leaving Ponce, the road heads east and follows a somewhat parallel route along the southern coast of the island heading towards Salinas. At Salinas, the road turns north to cut through the Cordillera Central in its approach to San Juan. Before reaching San Juan, it climbs to make its way to the mountain town of Cayey and then it winds down into the city of Caguas on its final approach to San Juan. Route description PR-1 starts in Ponce and ends in San Juan. The route connects important cities such as Salinas, Cayey, and Caguas. In Ponce, PR-1 intersects PR-2 and PR-52. Cupey (Tren Urbano Station)
Cupey is a rapid transit station in San Juan agglomeration, Puerto Rico. It is located between Centro Médico and Río Piedras stations on the only line of the Tren Urbano system, in the El Cinco district of the city of San Juan. San Juan Botanical Garden
The San Juan Botanical Garden, officially known as the Botanical Garden of the University of Puerto Rico, is located in the Caribbean city of San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico. Río Piedras Bridge
The Río Piedras Bridge (Spanish: ''Puente de Río Piedras'') or Piedras River Bridge (''Puente del Río Piedras''), also designated as Bridge #3, is a historic 19th-century barrel vault bridge located in the former town of Río Piedras, today part of the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, that spans across the Piedras River. The bridge was built in 1853 as part of the development of the Carretera Central that linked San Juan to Ponce, making it the oldest still-existing bridge of said route. Old Piedras River Aqueduct
The Old Piedras River Aqueduct (Spanish: ''Antiguo acueducto del Río Piedras''), also known as the San Juan Waterworks (''Acueductos de San Juan''), is an aqueduct in the ''barrio'' (district) of El Cinco of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is by the Piedras River, next to the University of Puerto Rico Botanical Garden. This aqueduct dates to the mid 19th century and it was important for the urban development of Río Piedras. History The development of an aqueduct at the site by the Piedras River dates to 1825 and it was important to the urban development of Río Piedras, then known as El Roble.
