Edward is an English given name. It is derived from the Anglo-Saxon name ''Ēadweard'', composed of the elements '' ēad'' "wealth, fortune; prosperous" and '' weard'' "guardian, protector”. Karl ''Edvard'' Johanson (1882 in Förlösa – 1936) was a Swedish trade union organizer. By profession he was a shoemaker, and belonged to the Swedish Shoe and Leather Workers' Union. Edvard Skagestad
Edvard Skagestad (born 6 July 1988) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a centre back for Follo. Skagestad played five seasons for Aalesund in Eliteserien and one season for IFK Norrköping in Allsvenskan. He has represented Norway at youth international level. Early life Born and raised in Ås, Akershus. Skagestad was involved in athletics while attending senior high school. He initially played Basketball, and did not start focusing on football until around the age of 18. He describes himself as a moderate supporter of Arsenal FC. Edvard Ravnikar
Edvard Ravnikar (4 December 1907 – 23 August 1993) was a Slovenian architect. Ravnikar was born in Novo Mesto and was a student of architect Jože Plečnik. Later, he led the new generation of Slovene architects, notable for developing the Slovene architecture field's infrastructure, organizing architectural competitions etc. He was a professor at the Ljubljana School of Architecture. He also promoted Scandinavian architectural style in Slovenia, particularly Finnish achievements in architecture accomplished by those such as Alvar Aalto. His most notable creations feature prominently in Ljubljana, among them Republic Square, Cankar Hall, Maximarket department store, and the Museum of Modern Art. For his work, he received the Prešeren Award in 1961 and in 1978. He died in Ljubljana, aged 85. Edvard Poulsson
Poul Edvard Poulsson (18 April 1858 – 19 March 1935) was a Norwegian physician. He was born in Larvik, and was the father of lawyer Erik Tutein Poulsson and a father-in-law of Gabriel Langfeldt. Poulsson was a pioneer in pharmacology in Norway. He was appointed extraordinary professor at the University of Oslo from 1895 (and ordinary professor from 1913). After his retirement as professor in 1928, he was appointed manager of the recently established ''Statens Vitaminlaboratorium''. Edvard Petersen (4 February 1841 – 5 December 1911) was a Danish painter. He also designed the Stork Fountain on Amagertorv in Copenhagen.
