Edwin Maurice "Eddie" Purkiss (27 July 1934 – 15 January 2008) was a rugby union player who represented Australia. Purkiss, a flanker (rugby union), flanker, was born in Grafton, New South Wales, and claimed a total of 2 international rugby caps for Australia. Grafton ( Bundjalung-Yugambeh: Gumbin Gir) is a city in the Northern Rivers region of the Australian state of New South Wales. It is located on the Clarence River, approximately by road north-northeast of the state capital Sydney.
