Eclipse (1994 Film)
''Eclipse'' is a Canadian drama film, written and directed by Jeremy Podeswa and released in 1994.Gerald Pratley, ''A Century of Canadian Cinema''. Lynx Images, 2003. . p. 68. Set in Toronto during the two-week period leading up to a total eclipse of the sun, the film revolves around ten characters of varying sexual orientations whose urban lifestyles are marked by emotional and social disconnection from others. Against the backdrop of the media circus surrounding the rare celestial event, each of the ten characters struggles to connect with others through a chain of sexual encounters, with each new encounter involving one of the two partners from the previous one. Jeremy Podeswa
Jeremy Podeswa (born 1962) is a Canadian film and television director. He is best known for directing the films '' The Five Senses'' (1999) and ''Fugitive Pieces'' (2007). He has also worked as director on the television shows '' Six Feet Under'', ''Nip/Tuck'', ''The Tudors'', ''Queer as Folk'', and the HBO World War II miniseries '' The Pacific''. He has also written several films. In 2014, he directed episodes five and six of the fifth season of the HBO series ''Game of Thrones'', earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the latter episode. He returned the next season, directing the season premiere and the second episode. He also directed the season premiere as well as the season finale of the seventh season. Daniel MacIvor (born July 23, 1962) is a Canadian actor, playwright, theatre director, and film director. He is probably best known for his acting roles in independent films and the sitcom '' Twitch City''. Personal MacIvor was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia and educated at Dalhousie University in Halifax, and then at George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. MacIvor is openly gay. He married Paul Goulet in 2006; they have since divorced. He has an Italian Greyhound, called 'Buddy'. ''Anatol'' is a play by Austrian playwright Arthur Schnitzler, published in 1893. The introduction was written by ''Loris'', a pseudonym of the young Hugo von Hofmannsthal, who was a friend of Schnitzler. It is a seven- act play set in late 19th century Vienna, depicting the many shallow and immature relationships of bourgeois playboy Anatol. Arthur Schnitzler (15 May 1862 – 21 October 1931) was an Austrian author and dramatist. Biography Arthur Schnitzler was born at Praterstrasse 16, Leopoldstadt, Vienna, capital of the Austrian Empire (as of 1867, part of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary).
