East Midlands Today
''East Midlands Today'' is the BBC's regional television news programme for the East Midlands. The programme is broadcast on BBC One from studios at the BBC's East Midlands broadcasting centre in Nottingham, also home to Radio Nottingham. The main transmitter for the programme is Waltham near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. The programme can be watched in any part of the UK (and Europe) from Astra 1N on Freesat channel 952 and Sky channel 960. The latest edition of ''BBC East Midlands Today'' is also available to watch on the BBC iPlayer. Des Coleman
Desune Franklin Coleman is a Northern Irish actor, singer and weather presenter. He has appeared in numerous stage musicals, and played the role of Lenny Wallace in BBC's ''EastEnders''. In 2007, he became the weatherman for BBC's ''East Midlands Today'' but was sacked in 2011 for breaching on-air guidelines. In 2016, he joined ITV Central's ''ITV News Central'' as the weather presenter. Career Coleman worked as a welder after leaving school aged 16, before deciding to pursue a career in performing. Jo Wheeler (born 3 July 1963, Manchester) is an English weather forecaster who currently works for Sky News. Early life Wheeler's father and uncle worked in the broadcasting industry. From 1974–79 she attended Wilmslow County Grammar School for Girls, which became comprehensive in 1978, and became part of Wilmslow High School. Kaye Forster (born ) is a freelance weather presenter based at BBC East Midlands weather hub. Her usual role is providing weekday breakfast and lunchtime and weekend forecasts for the East Midlands, West Midlands and North West regions following budget cuts as part of the BBC's Delivering Quality First in England program.
