Extreme Rules (2016)
The 2016 Extreme Rules was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It was the eighth annual Extreme Rules and took place on May 22, 2016, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This was the last Extreme Rules event to be held before the reintroduction of the brand extension in July. The concept of Extreme Rules is that the event features various hardcore-based matches. Eight matches were contested at the event, including one on the Kickoff pre-show. Only three matches, including the pre-show match, were contested under a hardcore stipulation. In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated AJ Styles in an Extreme Rules match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship; after the match, Seth Rollins made his return from injury and attacked Reigns. Dean Ambrose
Jonathan David Good (born December 7, 1985) is an American professional wrestler. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs under the ring name Jon Moxley and is the current AEW World Champion in his record-setting fourth reign. He is also the leader of the Death Riders. He also makes appearances for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and a former two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. He became widely known for his tenure with WWE, where he performed under the ring name Dean Ambrose from 2011 to 2019. Many types of wrestling matches, sometimes called "gimmick matches" in the jargon of the business, are performed in professional wrestling. The 2012 Extreme Rules was the fourth annual Extreme Rules professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It took place on April 29, 2012, at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois. It included Brock Lesnar's first WWE in-ring match since WrestleMania XX in 2004. The concept of Extreme Rules is that the event features various hardcore-based matches. Eight professional wrestling matches were scheduled on the event's card and one pre-show match was livestreamed on YouTube. Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) was an American professional wrestling promotion that was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and operated by its parent company HHG Corporation. Gimmick (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling, a gimmick generally refers to a wrestler's in-ring persona, character, behaviour, attire, and/or other distinguishing traits while performing which are usually artificially created in order to draw fan interest. These in-ring personalities often involve costumes, makeup and catchphrases that they shout at their opponents or the fans.
