Excision (musician)
Jeffrey Abel (born 29 April 1986), better known by his stage name Excision, is a Canadian DJ and electronic music producer. He is the founder of Rottun Recordings and Subsidia Records. Active since 2006, his first release, "Warning", was in 2007. He released an annual " Shambhala" mix album in the third quarter of each year until 2016. He started his own music festival (Lost Lands) the following year and releases annual mixes. He is known for his tours with immense sound systems and huge visual productions. Abel founded the record label Destroid Music. Upon its debut, Destroid released a full-length digital album titled ''The Invasion''. The majority of tracks on the album were produced by Excision, with collaborations with other artists such as Downlink, Space Laces, Far Too Loud, Bassnectar and Ajapai. Nicholas Daniel "Nick" Miller (born December 26, 1990), professionally known as Illenium (stylized in all caps), is an American musician, DJ, music producer, and songwriter. He has released five studio albums, his most recent being ''Illenium'', released in April 2023. Illenium earned his first Grammy nomination following the release of his fourth studio album, ''Fallen Embers (Illenium album), Fallen Embers'', released in July 2021. Shambhala (music Festival)
Shambhala Music Festival is an annual music festival in British Columbia, Canada, founded by Jim "Jimmy" Bundschuh. It is held during the last week of July at the Bundschuh family farm; Salmo River Ranch, a farm in the West Kootenay mountains near Nelson. The festival lasts four days and three nights and offers a mix of music and art in nature. History Shambhala began in 1998 and has grown to become the largest and one of the longest-running electronic music events in Canada. It is a family-run event and operates without corporate sponsorship. In the summer months, the ranch becomes home to volunteers and event staff who prepare for and operate the festival. In the summer of 2008, a DVD documenting the festival's ten-year history was released. SLANDER is an American DJ duo consisting of Derek Andersen and Scott Land based in Los Angeles, California. They are best known for their unique bass music sound. Early life Andersen and Land met at their fraternity, Kappa Sigma, in University of California, Irvine. They later went to and graduated from Icon Collective, a music production school together with Nghtmre. Andersen said: "My relationship with Tyler (Nghtmre) came out of nowhere when we were put in the same classroom at Icon Collective together." KJ Sawka
Kevin Joseph "KJ" Sawka is an American musician, record producer, and DJ. He plays drums in the bands Pendulum and Destroid. Career KJ Sawka started his musical career at the age of twelve. At age eighteen, he developed an interest in electronic music and started producing. Citing the drumming of Phil Collins as a major influence, Sawka uses a customized drumkit configured to enable greater improvisation, tailored to the type of music he is playing. In 2010, he became the drummer of Pendulum as the sole American member, appearing on their ''Immersion'' album. The group reunited in 2016 for a single live show at Ultra Music Festival, Miami, and subsequently went on tour in 2017. Joshua Kiekegaard Grant Steele (born 15 January 1989), known professionally as Flux Pavilion, is an English EDM producer, DJ, singer-songwriter and label owner. He started performing in 2008. Aaron Dontez Yates (born November 8, 1971), better known by his stage name Tech N9ne (pronounced "tech nine"), is an American rapper and singer. Destroid
Destroid were a dubstep supergroup and live dubstep band consisting of Excision (production and midi-guitars), Downlink (production and midi-guitars), and Pendulum drummer KJ Sawka, with collaboration from Space Laces and Ajapai. The band released two singles and two albums on their independent label, Destroid Music. Destroid also performed live music shows. Destroid promoted their dubstep music with online videos, social media marketing, and online graphic novels and a web page called "The Elevated", using the tagline "elevate your existence". Timeline Destroid was formed after several years of Excision's North American tours, as well as collaborations with Downlink for nu-metal band Korn.
