The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and location information about more than two million physical and cultural features, encompassing the United States and its territories; the Compact of Free Association, associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau; and Antarctica. Fayette County is one of 92 County (United States), counties in U.S. state of Indiana located in the east central portion of the state. As of 2020, the population was 23,398.
