Evanston Park is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is on the southeastern side of Gawler. It is on the eastern side of Main North Road and Adelaide Road extending north from near the intersection with Gawler Bypass Road. Governance The majority of Evanston Park is in the Town of Gawler, straddling the boundary so that the eastern portion of the suburb is in the City of Playford. Gawler Bypass Road
Gawler Bypass is a major north–south route in the outer northern suburbs of the city of Adelaide, South Australia, connecting Main North Road to the Sturt Highway, bypassing Gawler. The route was built in 1963 in an attempt to redirect traffic on the national highway out of Gawler town centre. It has been upgraded and realigned several times since then. History The first Gawler bypass was planned in the 1950s. It was first built as a single two-lane carriageway around the town in 1963, with at-grade intersections, and carried 3,000 vehicles per day. It ended at a tee-junction with Main North Road at the southern end, and followed an alignment that included what is now the southbound on-ramp and Brereton Road, Jack Cooper Drive over the Winckel Bridge, and Paternoster Drive to the railway bridge. Napier was an electorate in the South Australian Legislative Assembly in the outer northern suburbs of the Adelaide metropolitan area, including the suburbs of Blakeview, Davoren Park, Elizabeth Downs, Evanston South, Kudla, Munno Para, Smithfield and Smithfield Plains, parts of Craigmore, Evanston Park and Munno Para Downs; as well as semi-rural Bibaringa, One Tree Hill, Sampson Flat, Uleybury and Yattalunga, and part of Humbug Scrub. 2014 South Australian State Election
The 2014 South Australian state election elected members to the 53rd Parliament of South Australia on 15 March 2014, to fill all 47 seats in the House of Assembly (lower house) and 11 of 22 seats in the Legislative Council (upper house).
