Eva Siracká
Eva Siracká (1 May 1926 – 21 February 2023) was a Slovak physician. Between 1990 and 2020, she served as the president of the League Against Cancer NGO. In 2011, she became the first European woman to receive the Sasakawa Health Prize, awarded by the World Health Organisation. She is considered one of the . Early life Eva Siracká was born on 1 May 1926 in Uherské Hradiště in the Czech part of Czechoslovakia, but lived in Slovakia since her childhood. She studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in Bratislava from 1945 to 1951 with a focus on cancer as she carried out her practice at St. Elizabeth Cancer Institute Hospital. Career After graduation, she worked at the Oncology Institute in Bratislava. Uherské Hradiště (; ) is a town in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 25,000 inhabitants. Radio and Television of Slovakia ( ), or RTVS, was a nationwide public broadcasting, state-funded organisation in Slovakia. The organisation was created in 2011 following a merger of Slovenská televízia (Slovak Television) with Slovenský rozhlas (Slovak Radio). It was headquartered in Bratislava. Like its two predecessor organisations - Slovenská televízia (STV) and Slovenský rozhlas (SRo), RTVS was a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Zuzana Čaputová (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist who served as the fifth president of Slovakia from 2019 to 2024. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45. Ivan Gašparovič (; ; born 27 March 1941) is a Slovakia, Slovak politician and lawyer who was the third president of Slovakia from 2004 to 2014. He was also the first and currently the only Slovak president to be re-elected. Ján Figeľ (born 20 January 1960) is a Slovak politician who served as European Commissioner from 2004 to 2009, then as Slovak Minister of Transport from 2010 to 2012. From 2016 to 2019, Figeľ was European Commission special envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion outside the EU.
