Eurovision Song Contest Previews
The ''Eurovision Song Contest Previews'' are annually broadcast television shows showcasing the entries into the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. They were inaugurated for the , and have been provided by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to all participating broadcasters ever since. For a period, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) were responsible for 'collecting' the preview videos and distributing them to the various participating broadcasters. This has been carried out by the contest's host broadcaster more recently. Between 2004 and 2007, the Nordic broadcasters (from Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland) co-produced preview shows for broadcast across their region. The Eurovision Song Contest (), often known simply as Eurovision, is an international Music competition, song competition organised annually by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) among its members since 1956. Each participating broadcaster submits an original song representing its country to be performed and broadcast live to all of them via the Eurovision (network), Eurovision and Euroradio networks, and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine a winner. The contest was inspired by and based on the Italian Sanremo Music Festival, held in the Italian Riviera since 1951. Terry Wogan
Sir Michael Terence Wogan (; 3 August 1938 – 31 January 2016) was an Irish radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in Britain for most of his career. Between 1993 and his semi-retirement in 2009, his BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme '' Wake Up to Wogan'' regularly drew an estimated eight million listeners. He was believed to be the most listened-to radio broadcaster in Europe. Dover
Dover ( ) is a town and major ferry port in Kent, southeast England. It faces France across the Strait of Dover, the narrowest part of the English Channel at from Cap Gris Nez in France. Sweet Dreams was a British vocal trio composed of Carrie Gray (later Grant), Helen Kray and Bobby McVay. This teen trio represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 with the song " I'm Never Giving Up". Overview The band was put together specifically to perform "I'm Never Giving Up" in ''A Song for Europe 1983'', the United Kingdom's preliminary round to the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest. BBC Three is a British free-to-air Public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. BBC Choice
BBC Choice was a British digital television channel which was owned by the BBC and was launched on 23 September 1998. It was the first United Kingdom, British TV channel to broadcast exclusively in Digital television, digital format, as well as the BBC's second non-analogue-terrestrial channel launch (following on from the BBC News (British TV channel), BBC News channel in 1997). Peter John Snow (born 20 April 1938) is a British radio and television presenter and historian. Raymond Moore (2 January 1942 – 11 January 1989) was a British broadcaster, best known for hosting the early morning show on BBC Radio 2 between 1982 and 1988. Early life Born in Liverpool, he attended Waterloo Grammar School, and harboured ambitions to be a BBC announcer from an early age. On leaving school, his first job was at Liverpool docks, and he was subsequently a technician and actor with repertory companies in Oldham, Sidmouth and Swansea.
