Eurovision Song Contest 2006
The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was the 51st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Athens, Greece, following the country's victory at the with the song "My Number One" by Helena Paparizou. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), the contest was held at the O.A.C.A. Maria Menounos ( ; ; born June 8, 1978) is an American and Greek television host. She has hosted ''Extra'' and ''E! News''; she was a TV correspondent for '' Today'', ''Access Hollywood'', and co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, Greece. She also co-created and is currently CEO of online podcast series network AfterBuzz TV. She is currently signed to WWE where she has served as an ambassador since 2013, having even competed in some tag team events as a pro since 2009. OAKA Basketball Arena, previously known as Olympic Indoor Hall of O.A.C.A., is a part of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, Spyros Louis Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (). "Every Song is a Cry for Love" was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, written and performed by Brian Kennedy in English. Notably, with its semi-final performance, it was the 1000th song to be performed on the Eurovision stage.
