Eugénie Beeckmans
Eugénie Beeckmans (also Eugénie-Jeanne Beeckmans) was a trade unionist and women's rights advocate. In 1913, she was appointed to the ''Conseil supérieur de l'enseignement technique'' (Higher Council of Technical Education) for the French Republic. She was one of the delegates to the Inter-Allied Women's Conference, a parallel congress to the 1919 Paris Peace Conference and participated in the 18 March presentation to the Labour Commission of the Peace Conference regarding working conditions faced by women labourers. She served as the inaugural president of the ''Fédération des Syndicats professionnels du Vêtement'' (Federation of Professional Garment Trade Unions) of the ''Confédération Française des Travailleurs Chrétiens'' (CFTC) from its founding in 1921 until 1937. Inter-Allied Women's Conference
The Inter-Allied Women's Conference (also known as the Suffragist Conference of the Allied Countries and the United States) opened in Paris on 10 February 1919. It was convened parallel to the Paris Peace Conference to introduce women's issues to the peace process after the First World War. Leaders in the international women's suffrage movement had been denied the opportunity to participate in the official proceedings several times before being allowed to make a presentation before the Commission on International Labour Legislation. On 10 April, women were finally allowed to present a resolution to the League of Nations Commission. It covered the trafficking and sale of women and children, their political and suffrage status, and the transformation of education to include the human rights of all persons in each nation. Confédération Française Des Travailleurs Chrétiens
The French Confederation of Christian Workers (; CFTC) is one of the five major France, French confederation of trade unions, belonging to the Christian socialism, social Christian tradition. It was founded in 1919 as the Trade Union of Employees of Industry and Commerce under the inspiration of Exupérien Mas with the goal of safeguarding the material as well as the spiritual interests of its members. In 1964, the union split, a majority founding the French Democratic Confederation of Labour (CFDT), a non-confessional trade-union. The CFTC is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation and the European Trade Union Confederation. Its leader is Jacques Voisin. Professional elections The CFTC won 8.69% of the vote in the employee's college during the 2008 professional elections.
