Eugen Nicolăescu
Gheorghe-Eugen Nicolăescu (born 2 August 1955) is a Romanian economist and politician. A member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), he was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Mureș County from 2000 to 2008 and has represented Călărași County there since 2008. In the Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu cabinet, he served as Minister of Health from 2005 to 2008. Biography Nicolăescu was born in Grădiștea village, Comana Commune, Giurgiu County. Between 1976 and 1985, he was successively technologist, sales clerk, commodities economist and economist at various Bucharest hotels, including Athénée Palace. He took a hiatus in 1976–1977 in order to fulfill his mandatory military service, and in 1982 graduated from the Commerce Faculty of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE), earning a doctorate in Economics from the same institution in 2007. Andrei Chiliman (born 18 July 1947) is a Romanian sailor, engineer, and politician. He competed in the Tornado event at the 1980 Summer Olympics.
