Estadio Universitario Alberto "Chivo" Córdoba is a multi-use stadium in Toluca, Mexico, on the campus of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. The stadium seats 32,000 and is used mostly for football matches. History Construction of the stadium began between 1957 and 1958 as a municipal facility for the city of Toluca, with a formal opening on 5 November 1964. It is named for Alberto "Chivo" Córdoba, who coached the UAEM American football team. In the early 1970s, the UAEM made its first entrance into professional soccer with the first Potros team, which played for a number of years and managed a promotion but was shuttered due to poor economic support. Estadio Universitario BUAP (official name) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Ciudad Universitaria in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico. It is used by the Lobos de la BUAP, Lobos BUAP professional football team, currently playing in the Liga MX top flight of Mexican football. History The first stage of the stadium opened in 1999 and was used by Lobos de la BUAP, a professional football club that plays in the Ascenso MX. In 2007, the club moved because it did not meet the requirements of the Mexican Football Federation for an Ascenso MX home grounds; namely, it required expansion from 9,000 to at least 15,000 seats.
