Espot
Espot () is a town and Municipalities of Catalonia, municipality in Pallars Sobirà county in Catalonia. It has a population of . It is located in the Espot Valley, west of the river Noguera Pallaresa. The municipality is one of the entrances to the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. Espot has been mentioned in documents dating back to the year 839. Economy The economy of the municipality is largely based on tourism, thanks to the ski resort Espot Esquí and an increase in rural tourism. The area also depends on the milk industry and cattle ranching, specifically Bovinae, bovines. There are various Hydroelectricity, hydroelectric power stations in the area including Sant Maurici, Lladres and Espot. Espot Esquí
Espot Esquí is a ski resort located in Espot, in the Catalonia, Catalan Pyrenees, opened in 1967. The ski area extends from 1,500 to 2,500 metres. It's one of the ways of entry in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, and is near an area with many lakes of glacial origin, the trails facing the northeast are surrounded by a forest. Espot Esquí has an extensive length of tracks with a very careful design, a new stage areas were created for each skier could find a practice space for many activities: Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, Cross-country skiing, Ski mountaineering, Freeriding (winter sport), freeriding, snowshoeing, hiking on snowmobiles, circuits with dog sleds, etc.. ''Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici'' National Park (, ), is one of the fifteen Spanish national parks, and the only one located in Catalonia. A wild mountain region in the Pyrenees, with peaks rising to 3017 m (Besiberri Sud) and with nearly 200 lakes, many of them of glacial origin, the park comprises a core area of 141 km2 and a buffer zone of 267 km2 surrounding the park. The park's name in Catalan is ''Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici'', freely translated as "The winding streams and St. Maurice lake". The park has an elevation range of 1600 to 3000 metres and contains four major vegetation zones: lower montane, upper montane, subalpine and alpine. Naut Aran () is a municipality in eastern Aran, Catalonia. It has a population of . It is located in the terçons of Arties e Garòs and Pujòlo.
