Esporte Clube Itaúna was a football club from the city of Itaúna, Minas Gerais, founded on 29 September 1929. It was founded as Itaúna Foot-Ball Club. The Campeonato Mineiro Módulo II is the second tier of the professional State football leagues in Brazil, state football league in the Brazilian States of Brazil, state of Minas Gerais. Itaúna
Itaúna is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Minas Gerais. It is located in the Iron Quadrangle (''Quadrilátero Ferrífero''), within the Metropolitan Belt, 80 km from Belo Horizonte in the Central-West region of Minas. It borders Itatiaiuçu (Central Region of Minas) to the south, Mateus Leme (Greater Belo Horizonte) to the east, Carmo do Cajuru to the west, Pará de Minas (Central Region of Minas) to the north, and Igaratinga (Central-West Region) to the northwest. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube () is a Brazilian professional football club, based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Cruzeiro is the greatest team of Minas Gerais. Eduardo Gonçalves de Andrade (born 25 January 1947), generally known as Tostão, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a forward or attacking midfielder and was a physician. Tostão was an intelligent, hardworking and prolific left-footed forward, who was known for his creativity and technical skills, and was considered one of the best players in the world in his prime and arguably the best player in the world in the early 70s alongside Cruyff before health problems forced his early retirement. Tostão was widely considered at the time the second best or even the best Brazilian player in the late 60s alongside Pelé, even ahead of other stars that would be part of the legendary 1970 Brazil squad. América Futebol Clube, commonly referred to as simply América Mineiro, is a Brazilian football team from the city of Belo Horizonte, capital city of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The Campeonato Mineiro is the top-flight professional state football league in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. It is run by the Minas Gerais Football Federation (FMF). The history of Campeonato Mineiro can be divided into two parts: before and after the construction of the Mineirão, in September 1966. The Mineirão is the biggest football stadium of Minas Gerais and it is located in Minas Gerais' state capital, Belo Horizonte. Before the stadium's inauguration América and Atlético were the most successful teams in the state, but after the construction of the Mineirão, known as the "Era Mineirão" ("Mineirão Era"), another team from the capital, Cruzeiro, also gained prominence.
