Eslamshahr () is a city in the Central District of Eslamshahr County, Tehran province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. Etymology The name of Eslamshahr before the Islamic revolution in Iran was "Shadshahr" and in 1979 the government changed it to "Eslamshahr." The old historic name of Bahramabad is now applied only to the small northern suburbs of Eslamshahr, or the village of Bahramabad. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 357,171 in 91,293 households. The following census in 2011 counted 389,102 people in 112,487 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 448,129 people in 137,638 households. The city has grown to be the most populous non-provincial capital city and the 19th overall most populous city of the country. Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport () is the international airport of Tehran, the capital of Iran. It is located 2 kilometers (1 mi) of Vahnabad and southwest of Tehran and is named for Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran's first supreme leader. The airport is operated by Imam Khomeini Airport City Company. It covers and has two terminals and two runways. All international flights into Tehran are served by the airport, and all domestic flights land at Mehrabad Airport. Köppen Climate Classification
The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature. The five main groups are ''A'' (tropical), ''B'' (arid), ''C'' (temperate), ''D'' (continental), and ''E'' (polar). Each group and subgroup is represented by a letter. Cold Semi-arid Climate
Cold is the presence of low temperature, especially in the atmosphere. In common usage, cold is often a subjective perception. Saveh City
Saveh () is a city in the Central District of Saveh County, Markazi province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. It is about southwest of Tehran. History In the 7th century BC it was a stronghold of the Medes. During the Parthian rule of Persia, it was called Saavakineh, and was one of the main hubs of the empire. In the 11th century, it was a residence of the Daylamites and of the Seljuks. It was severely damaged by the Mongol invasion in the 13th century; it was restored during the Ilkhanids. Saveh was again sacked by the Timurids, but later grew under the Safavids. In the summer of 1725 the city was besieged and captured by the Afghans after a battle with Tahmasp Mirza. It eventually lost much of its importance when Tehran became the official capital of Persia and, in the mid-19th century, many of the inhabitants moved to Tehran. Road 65 (Iran)
Road 65 is an important transit road connecting the Northern Iran, North and Southern Iran, South of Iran. The road travels through the provinces of Tehran province, Tehran, Markazi province, Markazi, Isfahan province, Isfahan, Fars province, Fars, and Bushehr province, Bushehr.
