Es Pontà s
Es Pontà s ("the big bridge" in the Catalan language) is a natural arch made from limestone in the southeastern part of the island of Mallorca in Spain. The arch is located on the coastline between the Cala Santanyà and Cala Llombards in the municipality of SantanyÃ, and is approximately in height. Es Pontà s is only accessible by boat or by swimming, and is a popular scenic location for tourists to Mallorca (particularly at sunrise and sunset) who view it from the 'Mirador Es Pontas'. Climbing area The arch is also a deep-water soloing (DWS) climbing area, and the first routes in the guidebook date from circa 2003 with ''Stop Look and Listen'' and ''Treasure Island'' . The area is most noted for Chris Sharma's DWS routes, and particularly ''Pontax'' in 2005, and '' Es Pontà s'' in 2006. SantanyÃ
Santanyà () is a municipality on the Spain, Spanish island of Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands, situated in the westernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea. This municipality in the southeast of Majorca is home to the towns of SantanyÃ, Calonge, s'Alqueria Blanca and es Llombards, as well as Cala d'Or, Portopetro, Cap d'es Moro, Cala Figuera, Cala SantanyÃ, Cala Llombards and Cala de s'Almunia. ''Rock & Ice'' is a magazine published by Outside focusing on rock and ice climbing. The first issue came out in March 1984. The first publisher was Neal Kaptain. George Bracksieck worked for him, beginning in January 1984, and the two became equal partners in September of that year. The magazine was bought out within the first year by George Bracksieck, who remained publisher and editor until the end of December 1997. His company, Eldorado Publishing, sold Rock & Ice to North-South Publications, an investment group led by Dougald MacDonald. After a few years, it was sold to Big Stone. The magazine is published eight times a year. It was headquartered in Boulder, Colorado until 2002, when it moved to Carbondale, Colorado. Rock & Ice was purchased by Outside in 2021. Azure Window
The Azure Window (), also known as the Dwejra Window (), was a natural arch on the island of Gozo, located just off the shores of Malta. The limestone feature, which was in Dwejra Bay close to the Inland Sea, Gozo, Inland Sea and Fungus Rock, was one of the island's major tourist attractions until it collapsed in stormy weather on 8 March 2017. The arch, together with other natural features in the area, has appeared in a number of international films and media productions. The rock formation, which consisted of a pillar rising from the sea joined to the cliff by a horizontal slab, was created by the collapse of a sea cave, probably during the 19th century. ''Es Pontà s'' is a long limestone deep-water soloing (DWS) climbing route on the Es Pontàs sea-arch in Mallorca, Spain. After it was first free soloed in September 2006 by American climber Chris Sharma, it became graded at – the world's first-ever DWS route at that grade, and one of the earliest 9a+ graded rock climbs of any type in history.
