Ernst Jäckh
Ernst Jäckh (February 22, 1875 – August 17, 1959) was a German journalist, diplomat, author, and academic who later lived in Great Britain and the United States. He is most known for having advocated for first Germany, and then the United States, having better relations with Turkey. He was the founder and leader of the Deutsche Hochschule für Politik in Berlin from 1920 to 1933. Early life and education Jäckh was born in Urach, Germany.Özçalık, ''Promoting an Alliance, Furthering Nationalism'', p. 40. His secondary education was at the theological seminaries of Maulbronn and Blaubeuren and at technical school in Stuttgart. He then was a student at the University of Breslau, the University of Geneva, the University of Munich, and Heidelberg University. He studied philosophy, politics, and history, focusing in particular on Turkey and the Middle East. Bad Urach () is a town in the district of Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 14 km east of Reutlingen, at the foot of the Swabian Jura (or Swabian Alps), and is known for its spa and therapeutic bath.
