Erkut Kızılırmak
Erkut Kızılırmak (born 14 September 1969) is a Turkish people, Turkish racing driver. He started racing in rallying in 1992 and switched to touring cars in 2002, at the age of 32. In 2005 he won the Turkish Touring Car Championship, in a Vauxhall Astra, Vauxhall Astra Coupé formerly raced by Yvan Muller in the British Touring Car Championship, BTCC. He also made an appearance in the Turkish round of the World Touring Car Championship in 2005 driving an ex works SEAT Toledo for the GR Asia team alongside Tom Coronel.His connections with the series and the Triple 8 Race Engineering company, increased in 2006, with Erkut becoming the first Turkish driver to compete in the BTCC when he raced at Croft Circuit, Croft in a BTC-T Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch, converted from one of the team's show cars. Rockingham Motor Speedway was a motorsport racing venue in Rockingham, Northamptonshire, Rockingham, Northamptonshire, England, United Kingdom, near the town of Corby. The 2005 FIA WTCC Race Of Mexico was the fifth round of the 2005 World Touring Car Championship season. It was held at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed. Fabrizio Giovanardi won the first race from pole position for Alfa Romeo, and Peter Terting took his first and only WTCC win in the second race, which also turned out to be SEAT's second win. GR Asia is an auto racing team based in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. They have raced in the World Touring Car Championship, the European Touring Car Championship and the British Touring Car Championship. In 2006 they won the Independents championship in the WTCC with Tom Coronel. Initially entering the BTCC in 2000, GR ran in the class B category, running Ford Focus chassis, and again in 2001. They ran Adam Jones (racing driver), Adam Jones' Team Aircool entry in the BTCC in 2007 and 2008, and ran an additional car shared by Gavin Smith (racing driver), Gavin Smith and Rob Collard at the end of the 2007 season.
