Eric Nadel
Eric Nadel (born May 16, 1951) is an American sports announcer on radio broadcasts for the Texas Rangers baseball organization. In 2014, he was honored with the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Biography Nadel grew up in Brooklyn, New York, as a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, though it was listening to a New York Yankees broadcast from Mel Allen and Red Barber that first sparked his interest in sportscasting when he was eight years old. He developed his skills at Brown University (class of 1972), announcing hockey and football games on radio station WBRU. The Women's Professional Basketball League (abbreviated WBL) was a professional women's basketball league in the United States. The league played three seasons from the fall of 1978 to the spring of 1981. The league was the first professional women's basketball league in the United States. Matt Hicks is a sports broadcaster who calls Texas Rangers games alongside Eric Nadel on the radio. Broadcasting career In the middle of the 2012 season, Hicks joined the Rangers after spending 10 years with the Corpus Christi Hooks. He replaced Steve Busby, who replaced Dave Barnett as the primary television play-by-play announcer for the Rangers due to Barnett's health issues. Steven Lee "Buzz" Busby (born September 29, 1949) is an American former starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played his entire career for the Kansas City Royals. He batted and threw right-handed. High school Busby attended Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California. Professional career A bright prospect, Busby won 56 games in his first three full seasons, only to have his career derailed by a rotator cuff tear. Brad Michael Sham (born August 16, 1949) is an American sportscaster who is known as the "Voice of the Dallas Cowboys". Sham is currently the play-by-play announcer on the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. Biography Sham has been with the Cowboys since 1976, when he was hired to be their color analyst alongside play-by-play man Verne Lundquist. Sham also held the position of Sports Director at former Cowboys Radio Network flagship station 1080 AM KRLD between 1976 and 1981.
