Ergin Ataman
Halil Ergin Ataman (born January 7, 1966) is a Turkish professional basketball coach, currently managing Panathinaikos of the Greek Basketball League (GBL) and the EuroLeague. He is also the head coach of the Turkish national team. During his playing career which began in 1982, he played for the Eczacıbaşı and Yeşilyurt basketball clubs in the amateur area. Ataman is considered the most successful coach in Turkish basketball history and one of the most successful coaches in Europe, having won three Euroleague titles (2021, 2022 and 2024). In 2021 and 2022 he won back to back Euroleague titles with Anadolu Efes and in 2024 he won the Euroleague title with Panathinaikos BC in his first year. Ayşegül Ergin Boyalı (born Ayşegül Ergin in 1971) is a former Olympian Turkish female Taekwondo practitioner. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, she competed for Turkey, and became the runner-up after losing to Tung Ya-Ling from Chinese Taipei in the final game. Faize Ergin (1894 – 21 February 1954) was a Turkish musician, tanbur player and composer of Ottoman Classical music. Early years and career Faize was raised receiving private education. At her very young ages, she was educated in tanbur playing and Ottomsn Classical music by her father's friend Cemil Bey (1873–1916). She expanded her musical repertoire learning quite a lot works from the court musician Hafız Hüsnü Bey and İsmail Hakkı Bey. She taught tanbur playing at "Darülelhan" (nusic school) and various music associations. She started composing with her spouse's encouragement. Her works with lyrics are the most well-known. Kazim Ergin (May 21, 1915 – November 24, 2002) was a Turkish geophysicist. Early years Ergin was born on May 21, 1915, in Gaziantep, in southeastern Turkey. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Gaziantep under difficult conditions, with many interruptions due to the French occupation of the city during World War I. After completing his basic education, he received his B.Sc. degree in mathematics at Istanbul University. In June 1937, he was sent by the Mineral Research and Exploration Institute of Turkey (MTA) to study mining, metallurgical and petroleum engineering at Bergakademie Freiberg near Dresden, Germany. His studies were interrupted by World War II, but he moved to the United States to continue his education. Sadullah Ergin (born 6 July 1964) is a Turkish people, Turkish politician. Born to Mehmet İsmet Ergin and Hatice Ergin in Antakya. He completed his primary and secondary education there and then studied at the Uludağ University Economics and Social Sciences Faculty in Bursa for one year. He continued his studies at the Ankara University Faculty of Law, graduating in 1987. Following the completion of his military service, he served as a lawyer for the Regional Directorate for Foundations of Hatay for five years.
