Equestrian At The 2004 Summer Olympics – Individual Jumping
The individual show jumping event, part of the equestrian program at the 2004 Summer Olympics, was held from 22 to 27 August 2004 in the Olympic Equestrian Centre on the outskirts of Markopoulo in the Attica region of Greece. Like all other equestrian events, the jumping competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. There were 77 competitors from 27 nations. Each nation could send up to 4 riders. Cian O'Connor of Ireland initially received the gold medal, but that medal was stripped from him due to doping. After his disqualification, the event was won by Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil, the nation's first medal in individual jumping. Silver went to Chris Kappler of the United States, with bronze to Marco Kutscher of Germany. Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre
The Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre hosted the Equestrian at the 2004 Summer Olympics, equestrian events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The venue is located at Markopoulo Mesogaias, Markópoulo on the outskirts of the Athens suburbs. It was completed in December 2003 and officially opened on 12 August 2004, shortly before the beginning of the competition. The Seating capacity, capacity of the venue is 10,000 for the Jumping Event, 8,100 seats for the Dressage and 15,000 seats for the Cross-Country Event. In June 2007, Markopoulo Equestrian Centre held the three super special stages of the 54th Acropolis Rally. The site is also home to horse racing competitions and hosted the FEI European Jumping Championship for Children in June 2008. References

Marcus Ehning
Marcus Ehning (born 19 April 1974 in Südlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German show jumping champion, Olympic champion from 2000. He is married to Nadia Ehning (née Zülow). He won the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna Grand Prix on Plot Blue in September 2014. Horses Marcus Ehning joined the equestrian world when he was 7 years old. His firsts horses, which let him learn and take confidence in low and medium level shows, were Lord, Metal, Starlight, Queen and Bright Ruby. Then he started obtaining great results in higher level competitions mostly thanks to Orchidee, Opium and Talan. Dermott Lennon
Dermott Lennon (born 12 June 1969) is an equestrian from Ballinaskeagh, Northern Ireland, who competes in the sport of show jumping. At the end of December 2011, he was ranked 106th – Ireland's no. 6. Show jumping career 1999–2000 Dermott Lennon riding the Irish Sport Horse mare, Liscalgot, were part of Irish teams that won a record ten FEI Nations Cups from 1999 to 2000. 2001 Lennon was part of the Irish team that won their first European Championship title at the European Show Jumping Championships in Arnhem riding Liscalgot. 2002 Lennon followed up by winning the Individual gold medal in the 2002 Show Jumping World Championships riding Liscalgot. Ludger Beerbaum
Ludger Beerbaum (, ; born 26 August 1963 in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia) is an internationally successful German equestrian who competes in show jumping and has been ranked the No. 1 Show Jumper in the world by the FEI on multiple occasions.
