Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
''Enthrone Darkness Triumphant'' is the third studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released on 30 May 1997 through Nuclear Blast. It was the band's first release through Nuclear Blast and also first recorded and produced in Abyss Studio, Sweden by Peter Tägtgren. It is also the last Dimmu Borgir full-length album to feature keyboardist Stian Aarstad and the first with bassist Nagash. Even though the album is not that different to its predecessor Stormblåst in terms of composition and songwriting, it marks major upgrade in quality and aggressiveness of their overall sound. Together with the marketing effort of their new recording label it is one of the key factors that contributed to the major success of this record and breakthrough of the band in general. Dimmu Borgir
Dimmu Borgir () is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic language, Icelandic, Faroese language, Faroese and Old Norse. Peter Tägtgren
Alf Peter Tägtgren (born 3 June 1970) is a Swedish musician and record producer. He is the founder, main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist of death metal band Hypocrisy as well as the industrial metal band Pain in which he is the only member. He is also the owner of ''The Abyss'' recording studio and the co-founder of Lindemann, a music project between Tägtgren and Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann. Tägtgren left Lindemann in 2020. Career Tägtgren started playing drums at the age of nine and later learned to play guitar, bass and keyboard. After Tägtgren's first band Conquest disbanded, he emigrated to the United States. Tjodalv
Ian Kenneth Åkesson (born 1976), known professionally as Tjodalv, is a Norwegian drummer. He is a founding member of the black metal bands Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child. He now plays in Black Comedy and Susperia. Tjodalv played guitar on the first Dimmu Borgir albums '' Inn i evighetens mørke'' and '' For all tid''. He then switched to drumming for them on Stormblåst and continued with this until 1999. Due to his family, he left Dimmu Borgir. He was replaced by Nick Barker, formerly of Cradle of Filth. Shortly before leaving Dimmu Borgir, he founded the group Susperia, with whom he remains active to date. Stian Arnesen
Stian André Hinderson (born Stian André Arnesen, 7 May 1978), also known under the stage names Nagash and Lex Icon, is a Norwegian Heavy metal genres, metal musician. He plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and does vocals. He is primarily known for his work with the black metal bands Dimmu Borgir and The Kovenant. Biography Nagash began writing music in 1992, together with Fafnir and Glaurung for a project called Troll (band), Troll. Silenoz
Silenoz (born Sven Atle Kopperud, 1 March 1977) is a Norwegian guitarist who is a founding member, along with Shagrath and Tjodalv, of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, of which he is the primary songwriter. He is also guitarist for the death metal supergroup Insidious Disease. Biography Silenoz has been Dimmu Borgir's guitarist since they started. A riff is a short, repeated motif or figure in the melody or accompaniment of a musical composition. Riffs are most often found in rock music, punk, heavy metal music, Latin, funk, and jazz, although classical music is also sometimes based on a riff, as in Ravel's Boléro.
