Enga Thambi
''Enga Thambi'' () is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film directed by Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy. The film stars Prashanth and Subhashri, with Lakshmi, Nagesh and Nassar in supporting roles. It was released on 9 April 1993. The film was dubbed in Telugu as ''Allari Prema''. Plot Pichumani is an orphan, and Muthu brings him up. Pichumani falls in love with Indu, but her uncle Dinakar, a police officer, opposes this. Nevertheless, Indu is determined to wed her first love. To avert this, Dinakar hatches a plan through which Pichumani is imprisoned. When Indu gives up hope, advocate Shanthi emerges to fight his case. It is revealed that Shanthi and Dinakar have been in a relationship earlier. In the end, Dinakar is arrested and discovers that Pichumani is his son and that Shanthi is his mother. Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy (5 October 1963 – 26 December 2024), also known and credited as S. D. Saba, and Saba Kailash, was an Indian film director, mainly working in the Tamil film industry. Life and career Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy started his career after completing his DFT in M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute, formerly known as the Adyar Film Institute and started his career in 1992 with ''Bharathan''. ''Bharathan'' was the first Tamil film to become a blockbuster that ran for 100 days in Kerala. After that he went on to direct hit films ''Sundara Purushan'', ''V.I.P.'', '' Punnagai Poove'' and the critically acclaimed ''Naam''. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Kalki Krishnamurthy also edited the magazine, which is published on a weekly basis. During his term the magazine was much more respected due to its quality. Pulamaipithan
Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film '' Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935. At the early age Pulavar used to work in textile mill known as Combodia mills in Coimbatore and also studied his Tamil literature in Tava Tiru Shanthalinga Adigalar Perur Tamil Kaluri Coimbatore. Muthulingam (poet)
Subbiah Muthulingam (born 20 March 1942) is an Indian songwriter. He wrote over 1,500 Tamil film songs, and was the winner of Kalaimamani, Pavender Bharathidasan Award, Best Songwriter Award, Artist Award. Muthulingam was appointed as the Tamil Nadu poet laureate in 1980s by the then Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister M.G. Minmini (born P. J. Rosily; 12 August 1970) is a South Indian film playback singer. She is best remembered for the song "Chinna Chinna Aasai" from '' Roja'', the debut work of film composer A. R. Rahman, which was dubbed in Hindi as "Choti Si Asha". Most of her songs are in Tamil, most of them composed by Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman.
