Energia Târgu Jiu
Clubul Sportiv Energia was a Romanian professional basketball club based in Târgu Jiu, Romania. The club competed in the Liga I, the second tier of basketball in Romania. The club was founded in 2002 and was dissolved in 2016 after financial problems. History The team promoted to the First division in 2008, managing to finish 7th and qualify for the Romanian Cup semifinals in the first year in the Liga Națională. Their first year performance was the best performance a newly promoted team had ever had in the history of Romania. Head Coach Theo Evans also became the youngest coach ever to coach in Romania, when he took the job at age 26. The first half of the season consisted of 16 teams and 240-game regular season (30 games for each of the 16 teams). Kibwe Trim
Kibwe Kambui Khary Trim is a businessman and former professional basketball player from Trinidad and Tobago. Early life Trim's mother was a teacher and his father was an engineer. He was a very good student. Originally a soccer player, Kibwe Trim changed to basketball at the age of 13 when he was already 6'4 ft. (193 cm) tall. Trim played at three different age levels in secondary school. He played with two separate club teams. He later said, "I played at every local gym whenever I had the opportunity. I was focused because I knew that this game could effectively change my life." College career Trim went on to attend Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, USA. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science, after which he did a master's degree in information technology. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the FIBA EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. 2015 EuroChallenge Final Four
The 2015 EuroChallenge Final Four was the concluding tournament of the 2014–15 EuroChallenge season. The tournament was held in the Hayri Gür Arena in Trabzon, home of Trabzonspor Medical Park, one of the semifinalists. JSF Nanterre took the title, after beating hosts Trabzonspor 63–64 in the Final. Energia Târgu Jiu took third place, while Fraport Skyliners finished fourth. The first half of the season consisted of 14 teams and 182-game regular season (26 games for each of the 14 teams). 2014–15 EuroChallenge
The 2014–15 EuroChallenge was the 12th and last edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of next year's Eurocup season. The regular season was composed by 32 teams and it started on 4 November 2014. The season ended on 26 April 2015, when JSF Nanterre beat Trabzonspor Medical Park 63–64 in the Final in Trabzon, Turkey. It was the last season of the EuroChallenge, starting from the 2015–16 season, the competition was replaced by the FIBA Europe Cup.
