En El Jardín
"En El Jardín" () is a song written by Kike Santander and performed by Mexican recording artist Alejandro Fernández. It was co-produced by Santander and Emilio Estefan and features Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan. It was released as the second single from '' Me Estoy Enamorando'' by Sony Music Mexico in 1997. The song is a pop ballad and portrays both singers falling in love, as if the love blossomed from a garden. A music video featuring both artists was made for the track. It reached on the top of the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States and spent a total of seven weeks at this position. "En El Jardín" was met with positive reviews from music critics. The recording led to Fernández and Estefan receiving a nomination for Pop Group or Duo of the Year at the 10th Annual Lo Nuestro Awards while Santander received a BMI Latin Award for the track in 1999. Alejandro Fernández Abarca (; born 24 April 1971) is a Mexican singer. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, he is the son of the Mexican singer Vicente Fernández. Nicknamed as " El Potrillo" by the media and his fans, he has sold over 20 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists. Ranchera
Ranchera () or canción ranchera is a genre of traditional music of Mexico. It dates to before the years of the Mexican Revolution. Rancheras today are played in the vast majority of regional Mexican music styles. Drawing on rural traditional folk music, the ranchera developed as a symbol of a new national consciousness in reaction to the aristocratic tastes of the period.
