Embassy Of The Philippines, Amman
The Embassy of the Philippines in Amman is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It is located in the neighborhood of Sweifieh in the Wadi Al-Seer district of western Amman. Although the current embassy dates from 1998, the Philippines also maintained a previous resident embassy in Jordan between 1980 and 1993. History Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Jordan were established on March 1, 1976, although a resident mission in Jordan would not be immediately established by the Philippine government. An honorary consulate was first established in 1979, led by Costandi M. Muna. A resident mission in Jordan was finally opened in 1980, when Rafael E. Seguis, who would later become Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, was designated as the mission's ''chargé d'affaires''. The following year, he was replaced by Cesar C. Abdoun Neighborhood
Abdoun is a residential area of Amman, Jordan. It is located towards the South-West of the city in the Zahran District. Abdoun is considered by many to be the most affluent Neighborhood in the City. Some of Jordan's most expensive real estate is located in the Area. Abdoun is Technically Divided into Two Parts, South and North Abdoun, but both South and North Abdoun are known to Locals simply as Abdoun. Abdoun Circle is surrounded by numerous restaurants, cafés, Malls and stalls, and is a popular spot among Amman's youth. Abdoun Mall, the first mall to open in Amman at the time of its opening, is also located in the district. Taj Lifestyle Center, one of the most Upscale Shopping Centers in Jordan is also Located in the Neighborhood. The Republic of the Philippines has a network of diplomatic missions in major cities around the world, under the purview of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), to forward the country's interests in the areas that they serve, as well as to serve the ever-growing numbers of Overseas Filipinos and Overseas Filipino Workers. Although the Philippine diplomatic mission network is wide, there are embassies that are accredited to other nations without Philippine diplomatic posts. The Gaza Strip, also known simply as Gaza, is a small territory located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea; it is the smaller of the two Palestinian territories, the other being the West Bank, that make up the State of Palestine.
