Embassy Of Azerbaijan, Islamabad
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad is the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan to Pakistan. It is located at Plot 1D and 1E in Diplomatic Encave II, Islamabad. The embassy is concurrently accredited to Afghanistan. Azerbaijan and Pakistan established diplomatic relations in June 1992, soon after the former gained independence. The Azerbaijani embassy in Islamabad was established on 24 August 1997. The current Azerbaijani ambassador to Pakistan is Ali Alizada, appointed in July 2016. Various diplomatic staff are posted at the mission, along with a defense attaché. Emblem Of Azerbaijan
The state emblem of Azerbaijan () mixes traditional and modern symbols. The focal point of the emblem is a stylized flame. The flame is a reference to Azerbaijan's eternal natural oil-gas resources, which has given it the nickname " land of eternal fire". The emblem is supported by a crossed stalk of wheat and an oak bough. Wheat is the symbol of abundance in Azerbaijan. Also, wheat bread is the main staple food. The oak tree is the symbol of power and youth in time. Dual accreditation is the practice in diplomacy of a country granting two separate responsibilities to a single diplomat. One prominent form of dual accreditation is for a diplomat to serve as the ambassador to two countries concurrently. For example, Luxembourg's ambassador to the United States is also its non-resident ambassador to Mexico and Nicaragua. Such an ambassador may sometimes be called Ambassador-at-Large. The Holy See refuses to accept dual accreditation with Italy, an assertion of sovereignty dating from the prisoner-in-the-Vatican dispute.
