The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly or Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature. Garapaty Satyanarayana (Telugu : గారపాటి సత్యనారాయణ ), was a veteran freedom fighter and legislator. He was the first elected Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Eluru constituency, Andhra Pradesh, India. Political life Enraged by freedom struggle against the British Rule Satyanarayana plunged into active politics in his late teens. He was arrested for the first time in 1930 when he was 19 years old and was sent to minors' block of the Vellore jail. Since then he remained as a stumbling block to the British Government. 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2014 took place on 30 April and 7 May 2014 to elect members to the legislatures of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held concurrently with the Indian general election. The results were declared on 16 May 2014. The Telugu Desam Party led by N. Chandrababu Naidu won a majority of the 175 seats in the rump Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K. Chandrashekar Rao won in the new state of Telangana. 1952 Madras Legislative Assembly Election
The first legislative assembly Election to the Madras state based on universal adult suffrage was held in March 1952. This was the first election held in Madras state after the Indian Independence.
