Elisabeth Møller Jensen
Elisabeth Møller Jensen (born 1946) is a Danish literary historian and feminist. From 1990 to 2014 she was director of Kvinfo, the Danish Centre for Information on Women and Gender. She has also contributed as a literary critic to several of Denmark's national newspapers and has lectured on women's research and politics. Biography Born on 31 December 1946 in Lemvig in the west of Jutland, Elisabeth Møller Jensen is the daughter of the baker and specialist worker Tage M. Jensen (1921–94) and his wife Gudrun Borgholm (1921–75). She grew up in a social democratic milieu where, together her three siblings, she attended high school, matriculating from Struer Gymnasium in 1967. She then moved to the capital where she studied Danish and Russian at Copenhagen University. She later specialized in Danish, earning a Cand.phil. in 1977. KVINFO
The Danish Center for Research on Women and Gender (KVINFO) is a Danish information center about women's issues. It primarily aims to provide the general public with information about the results of women's studies and gender research undertaken in Denmark and internationally. KVINFO's core resource is a library of more than 20,000 books, journals and political publications dealing with equal opportunity and women's issues. Tagea Brandt Rejselegat
The Tagea Brandts ''Rejselegat'' (Travel Scholarship) is a Danish award to women who have made a significant contribution in science, literature or art. The grant, which is given without application, was created and endowed by Danish industrialist Vilhelm Brandt (1854–1921) in 1905 in honor of his wife, Tagea Brandt. It is awarded annually on 17 March, her birthday. The charter of 1922 provides that it shall be given to outstanding women in science, art, music, literature and theater arts (particularly in this case to actresses at the Royal Danish Theatre). The intent is for the awardee to both broaden her horizons while promoting Danish society abroad, and to benefit from vacation and rest time. The Order of the Dannebrog () is a Denmark, Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V of Denmark, Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the Order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. ''The History of Nordic Women's Literature'' ( Danish: ''Nordisk kvindelitteraturhistorie'', Swedish: ''Nordisk kvinnolitteraturhistoria'') is a print and online encyclopedia and biographical dictionary about female Nordic authors. The original print version was written in five volumes (four encyclopedic volumes plus a "bio-bibliographical" volume) over 25 years by about 100 scholars from different Nordic countries.
