Elina Pohjanpää
Armi Elina Annikki Pohjanpää (8 April 1933, in Helsinki – 13 January 1996) was a Finnish actress. Her theatrical career lasted for 40 years, and in addition, she appeared in several Finnish films by directors such as Ilmari Unho, Aarne Tarkas and Matti Kassila. In theatre Pohjanpää's career started in a Kotka City Theatre in 1952 where she also met her future husband Pentti Siimes. The two got married in 1956, and their marriage lasted until Pohjanpää's death. After a year in Kotka, Pohjanpää started to work for Helsinki City Theatre where she stayed employed for the rest of her life. Films Elina Pohjanpää was 17 years old when she made her first film appearance in a film ''Amor hoi!'' (1950). Her first leading role came a year later with ''Kuisma ja Helinä'' (1951). Ilmari Unho
Ilmari Unho (22 October 1906 − 3 April 1961) was a Finnish actor, film director, and screenwriter. Unho was employed by Suomi-Filmi for most of his filmmaking career. Unho was born in Uusikaupunki in 1906. He started his film career as an actor in the 1925 film ''Pohjalaisia'' and also played roles in ''Meren kasvojen edessä'' (1926) and ''Kajastus'' (1930) during his early career. He worked as a theatre manager and journalist until 1938 when he was hired by Suomi-Filmi, a company he would stay with for the remainder of his career. Initially, Unho worked as a screenwriter. He wrote the scripts for ''Jääkärin morsian'' (1938) and ''Aktivistit'' (1939), but quickly transitioned into the director's chair, with the comedies ''Punahousut'' (1939) and ''Kersantilleko Emma nauroi?'' Aarne Tarkas
Aarne Tarkas (until 1947 Saastamoinen, 19 December 1923 – 7 October 1976) was a Finnish film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Tarkas started his career as a screenwriter for Matti Kassila film ''Radio tekee murron'' (1951) for which they shared a Jussi Award. In 1952, he founded a production company Junior-Filmi, which produced internationally recognized Erik Blomberg film ''The White Reindeer, Valkoinen peura''. Tarkas was known as a very fast writer who, during his most productive years, finished up to five movies per year. All in all, Tarkas wrote 35 scripts and directed 33 feature films. During his final years, he worked mostly for television. Aarne Tarkas died of heart failure at the age of 52.
