Elin Fflur
Elin Fflur Llewelyn Harvey (''née'' Jones; born 26 July 1984), known professionally as Elin Fflur, is a Welsh singer-songwriter, television and radio presenter. Early life Fflur was born in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Anglesey and is the oldest of three children of Gerallt and Nêst Jones. She was educated at Ysgol David Hughes secondary school in the town of Menai Bridge, and later at Bangor University. Fflur began taking part in local Eisteddfodau from the age of three and became a familiar name in National Eisteddfodau thereafter. She later studied criminology at university, but left after her first year. Her musical roots began with her mother, who was the lead vocalist of the Welsh-folk band Bran in their early, prog-rock releases. The band Bran became known for winning Cân i Gymru in 1978. Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is a music festival which takes place every year during the second week of July in Llangollen, North Wales. It is one of several large annual Eisteddfodau in Wales. Singers and dancers from around the world are invited to take part in over 20 competitions followed each evening by concerts on the main stage. Over five thousand singers, dancers and instrumentalists from around 50 countries perform to audiences of more than 50,000 over the 6 days of the event. Shân Margaretta Morgan (born 25 October 1965), known professionally as Shân Cothi, is a Welsh singer-songwriter, television and radio presenter. Early life Cothi was born in Ffarmers, Carmarthenshire, the younger of two children of Dai and Joan Morgan. She was known locally as "Shân y Gof" () owing to her father's job as a blacksmith. Cothi adopted her stage name when she was one of two Shân Morgans competing in the Cardigan Eisteddfod as a child. She later graduated in music and drama from Aberystwyth University and subsequently trained to become a music teacher at secondary level. Rhys Meirion is a Welsh opera and classical tenor singer. He was born on 24 February 1966 in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd. Race Horses (band)
Race Horses were a Welsh band based in Cardiff, Wales and originally from Aberystwyth. Formed in 2005 as Radio Luxembourg, they changed their name in 2009 due to possible legal problems with the radio station of the same name. Initially the majority of their music was in Welsh, but their final album ''Furniture'' was entirely in English. After appearing across Wales and during the debut Festival N°6, the band announced their split in January 2013 and performed a farewell gig the following month at Clwb Ifor Bach. Caryl Parry Jones (born 16 April 1958) is a Welsh singer, actress and presenter. She was born in the Flintshire village of Ffynnongroyw and attended Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St. Asaph, but now lives in Cowbridge, in the Vale of Glamorgan. Career Parry Jones started her career as a singer in the vocal group Sidan (Silk) and was an accomplished pianist, playing for artists such as Dafydd Iwan, the founder of the Welsh music label Sain.
